Adaptive slicing algorithm of STL model based on feature facets
摘要
Abstract
To layout cutting path of independent expanded polystyrene(EPS) cutter,this paper proposed a new adaptive slicing algorithm for STL models based on the feature facets of the model.It could determine the suitable slicing places and planes automatically from feature facets in the cutting direction and minimal processing thickness.The algorithm saved from a complicated coordinate transformation, and got two contours of cross section at any direction in the meantime.The algorithm used a new method to slice facets for obtaining point, unclosed ring and closed ring contours.The slices could be closed through rapid triangulation plane contours.The program is compiled by Visual C + + 6.0.It shows that the slicing soft runs smoothly and efficiently using many full-scale CAD models.关键词
