摘要
Abstract
Objective: To explore the mediating effect of self-perception on the relationship between social support and depression. Methods: 494 high school students from two high schools in Beijing city were surveyed with questionnaires of "What I Am Like"(WIAL), Social support scale for Adolescents (SSSA) and Center for Epidemiological Studies Depression Scale (CES-D). Results: ①Significant positive correlations were found between low social support and low self-perception (r=0.453)and depression(r=0.293); while positive correlations between low self-perception and depression(r=0.553); ②The relationship between social support and depression was mediated by self-perception, and the mediating effect was 0.32, which accounted for 86.5% of the total effect. Conclusion: Good social support system is a protective factor to prevent the depression of adolescents, and children with higher social support report higher self-perception, which indicates they are more confident, and induces less depressive symptoms; while children with lower social support report lower selfperception, which implies they are less contident, leading to more depressive symptoms.关键词
