Abstract
Objective To investigate the expressions and clinical significance of matrix metalloproteinase( MMP )-1,2 and insulin-like growth factor-1( IGF-1 ) in fractures patients. Methods 38 fractures patients were divided into two groups by fractures healing: 22 patients in group A ( healed fractures ), 16 patients in group B ( non-healed fractures ). 20 subjects were in group C as normal controls. Peripheral blood samples were taken for determination of the serum levels of MMP-1,MMP-2,IGF-1 on 1 d,7 d and 30 d since fractures by ELISA. Results The MMP-1 was as follows: serum levels of MMP-1 at 7 d not only between group A and C but also between group B and C were significant different( P < 0. 01 ); serum levels of MMP-1 at 30d not only between group A and B but also between group B and C were significant different( P < 0. 01 );in group A, serum level of MMP-1 at 30d was significant different than its previous time point( P < 0. 01 );in group B, serum levels of MMP-1 at 7d and 30d were significant different than their previous time points separately( P < 0. 05 ).
