Abstract
Objective: To observe the morphology of the osseous septum combined with scoliosis. Methods: 63 patients with osseous septum underwent Siemens dual-source 64 rows CT scanning. The data were transferred into the Siemens workstation. And three-dimensional reconstruction was fulfilled. The diameters of the anterior, middle and posterior parts of the osseous septum were measured on axial view and sagittal view. The data of morphology were recorded and analyzed. Results:79 osseous septa were found. The osseous septa were classified into two types as irregular type and regular type according to bifurcation or not. 65 septa without bifurcation were of regular type. The other 14 were irregular. The number of regular septa was more than that of irregular type. The difference was of statistical significance. The morphology of regular septa was various. The morphology of most of the septa at thoracolumbar segments was thick at the ends and thin at the center,and the diameter of the anterior end was bigger than that of the posterior end. The difference was of statistical significance.Most of the bifurcations of the irregular septa were at the posterior end. 7 of the 14 irregular septa were at the first lumbar segment. Conclusion: The morphology of the osseous septa is various. The diameter of the anterior end is always big at thoracolumbar segments, which indicates the complication of the septum resection at these segments. Many of the osseous septa with bifurcation are at the first lumbar segment. It is recommended to pay attention to the bifurcation during operation on the osseous septa at this segment.关键词
