Abstract

Objective:To investigate the protective effect of salvianolate on the myocardial injury in rats with acute organophosphorus pesticides poisoning. Methods: A total of 24 male Spragne-Dawley (SD) rats were randomized into the control group,poisoning group and treated group(n = 8 each). Three groups were all supported with breathing machine connected with the tube from incision of trachea. The poisoning model was established by peritoneal injection of dichlorvos (60mg/kg 2LD50). The treated group was peritoneal injected salvianolat (10mg/kg) while rats were poisoned. Superoxide dismutase (SOD),malondialdehyde (MDA)and cardiac troponin T(CTnt) level in blood serum were determined after an hour. Myocardial apoptosis was detected by TdT- mediated dUTP biotin nick end labeling(TUNEL)method. Apoptosis index was calculated under an optical microscope. Results: Compared with the poisoning group, the level of CTnt , MDA and AI in the treated group were significant decreased while SOD was increased. (P<0.01). Conclusions: It shows that reducing oxidative stress by salvianolate might be one of the protctive cardial mechanisms. It decreases the level of CTnt and myocardial poptosis.
