Abstract
The PVA-TEOS/PAN composite membranes used for the pervaporation separation of caprolactam (CPL) aqueous solution were prepared by polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) cross-linked with tetraethoxysilane (TEOS) as active layer and polyacrylonitrile (PAN) ultrafiltration membrane as supporting layer. The FT-IR spectra and XRD patterns confirm that the covalent bond Si-O-C is formed and the crystallinity of the membrane decreases after the occurrence of cross-linking reaction between the PVA in the active layer of PVA-TEOS/PAN composite membrane and TEOS. SEM and TGA were employed to characterize the microstructure character and thermal stability of the prepared membranes. The effects of TEOS mass fraction in the membrane, the caprolactam concentration in feed solution and the feed temperature on the pervaporation performance of the prepared PVA-TEOS/PAN composite membrane for pervaporation separation of CPL-water solution were investigated. The results show that, with the increase of TEOS maas ratio in the PVA-TEOS/PAN composite membrane, its permeation flux descends, but the selectivity of the membrane ascends. It was found that, when the mass fraction of TEOS in the membrane is 1.9%, the composite membrane exhibits superior dehydration performance, and during the pervaporation separation of the CPL solution with 40%(maas) CPL at 50℃, its permeation flux and separation factor are 444.2 g.m-2.h-1and 263.9, respectively. The PSI (Pervaporation Separation Index) data displays that the prepared PVA-TEOS/PAN composite membranes show good pervaporation performances and relatively long-term thermal stability.关键词
