摘要

Abstract

A serious Melon Fusarium wilt was first found in Sanya, Hainan Province in 2008. During the early stages of the disease, the leaves wilted gradually from bottom to top with the wilt being the most pronounced at noon and were still capable of recovering at morning and night. However, A few days later, all the leaves wilted down and resulted in the death of the whole plant. A pathogen satisfied Koch's law, was isolated from the melon (Jinmi No.6) and identified as a causal agent. The causal pathogen was not a pathogen to cucumber, banana,tomato and pepper seedlings. Based on the characterictics of the colony morphology, colony growth rate,macroconidia, microconidia, chlamydospores and conidiophore and the rDNA ITS sequencing analysis, the pathogen was preliminarily identified as Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. Melonis
