STUDY AND SIMULATION OF A TYPICAL FIELDBUS BASED ON OPNET

Abstract
With its ever growing scale, network simulation using simulation software to validate key parameters and principles has become a popular network application development pattern.In this paper we make a brief introduction to and analysis on the fieldbus and a simulation software named OPNET.Then we present in detail the characteristics of a typical fieldbus.And we model and simulate the typical fieldbus based on OPNET.Upon analysis on the collected data we verify that the reply delay of this simulation model copes with the requirements of a typical fieldbus standard.Finally we draw the conclusion that the differences in picking of basic cycling periods have significant impacts on the delay defined in the standard.关键词
