Research on Volume Displacement Sensor

Abstract
With the example of vibrating beam of difference boundary conditions, a new method is presented for design of volume displacement sensors using shaped PVDF film on the basis of the approach of integration by parts.The PVDF sensor's shape is independent of property of the excitation (the type, position and frequency, etc.).Furthermore, the design method proposed here does not require the information of the structural mode shapes of the structures.The boundary conditions of vibrating beam can be divided into two groups: (1) one end is clamped and the other is arbitrary; (2) both ends are pin-connected.For each group of boundary condition, the volume displacement of the beam can be measured using a certain shape of PVDF sensors.关键词
