Abstract
With regard to the fact that low speed aviation airfoils are not fully suitable for vertical axis wind turbines,the complex optimum method was used in this paper to optimize the NACA0015 airfoil, which is widely applied in small-scale vertical axis wind turbine. The value of airfoil camber and its thickness were chosen as design variables,and the weighted value of the tangential coefficient and the stall angle were selected as objective function. By applying the approach of combining XFOIL program and Viterma-Corrignan post-stall mode ,the performance of airfoil was calculated. The result illustrates that,by comparison with the airfoil of NACA0015, the lift coefficient, the stall angle and the tangential coefficient of the new designed airfoil were increased by 33.5%,3° and 43.5%, respectively.关键词
