Abstract
Trellis Coded Modulation (TCM)is introduced into DPPM to investigate the error performance improvement in optical Diffieencial Pulse Position Modulation (DPPM)systems.Theoretical deduction and MATLAB simulation and comparisons of TC-16DPPM with 8PPM respectively,produce the following results. When the bandwidth is kept constant,TC-16DPPM and 8PPM have the same information rate,but the error performance of the former is better than the latter, up to 3dB at the maximum.关键词
