CHANGES OF BLOOD FOLIC ACID AND VITAMIN B12 LEVELS AND THEIR CLINICAL SIGNIFICANCE IN PATIENTS WITH LIVER CANCER
摘要
Abstract
Objective To study the correlation between the levels of plasma folic acid (FA), vitamin B12 and clinical features of liver cancer. Methods The levels of FA and vitamin B12 in plasma of 312 patients and 325 controls were measured by electro-chemiluminescence immunoassay (ECLI). Results The levels of FA in cancer were significantly lower than the controls (F=77.56,q=8.87,P<0.05), and the number of cancer patients with deficiency of FA was more than the controls. The difference of vitamin B12 levels between the two groups was not significant (P>0.05), but the number with deficiency of vitamin B12 was greater in the cancer patients (x2 =5.82,P<0.05) ; the FA levels in stage Ⅰ + Ⅱ patients were dramatically higher than that in stage Ⅲ + Ⅳ patients (F=4.09,q=2.08,P<0.05), but the levels of vitamin B12 were lower (F= 5.60,q= 2.39,P<0.05).Conclusion The levels of plasma FA and vitamin B12 are likely to be associated with the progress of liver cancer.关键词
