摘要

Abstract

The governing equations of SKM model were discretized by use of the finite volume method. So that they could be employed to calculate hydraulic elements of natural channels with arbitrary cross sections. Based on the self-compiled programs, this numerical simulation method was adopted to investigate the relationships between the depth-averaged velocities and stagedischarges at Zhutuo station on Yangtze River in China and Yoxall station on Trent River in UK. The numerical solutions agreed with the field data. The results of case studies show that the proposed numerical method can effectively solve application difficulty of SKM model in natural channels. It is rational, feasible and applicable in prediction of discharging capacity and water stage of river channels.
