Progresses on Application of African Green Monkeys in AIDS Researches
摘要
Abstract
Human infected with human immunodeficiency virus (HIV-1) always progress to AIDS after a variable period of latency. However, African green monkeys (AGM) with high levels of virus do not show any signs of AIDS after natural infection with simian immunodeficiency virus (SIV). This elicited interest of researchers to use AGM in studies on the cellular and molecular mechanisms to control virus replication and disease progression. In this paper, recent progresses in this field were briefly reviewed.关键词
