Influence of Inductive Moral Emotion on Undergraduates' Interpersonal Trust

Abstract
Objective: To explore the immediate influence of inductive moral emotion on interpersonal trust. Methods:140 undergraduates participated in the experiment in which some videos were used to induce positive moral emotion and negative moral emotion, and examined its consequence on the dispositional interpersonal trust and contextual interpersonal trust. Results: ①There was significant difference between inducing effect of positive moral emotions and negative moral emotions, and the former resulted in higher interpersonal trust than the latter. ②Positive moral emotions improved significantly the contextual interpersonal trust of undergraduates. On the contrary, negative moral emotions diminished their dispositional interpersonal trust. ③In the condition of inducing moral emotion, individuals with high empathic ability presented higher contextual interpersonal trust than individuals with low empathic ability in this study. Conclusion: Inductive moral emotion can improve individual interpersonal trust to a certain extent.关键词
