Experimental research of residence time distribution for different cross sections in SK static mixer

Abstract
The residence time distribution for different cross sections in SK static mixer was tested by using pulse tracer method.The effect of flow on residence time distribution of different cross sections was compared.The experimental results show that mean residence time decreases and the density function curve of the residence time distribution is peak and narrow with the flow increasing at the same cross section.The mean residence time increases and the dimension-one variance decreases along the axial direction at the same flow.The plug flow is gained in SK static mixer.With the flow increasing, the curve slope is sharp at the beginning and the tail phenomena of the residence time distribution curve is not obvious at the same cross section.The axial dispersion model, two-parameter model and the shift of the log-normal distribution function model were used in simulation according to the experimental results.The simulations show that the shift of the log-normal distribution function model is better than those of the other two.关键词
