Abstract
On the basis of discussing the functions and characteristics of RS and GIS, the article introduced the application of RS and GIS
technology in the May 12th earthquake disaster in Shaanxi Province combined with the application actuality of RS and GIS technology in the
earthquake disaster all over the world. In addition, the advantages and disadvantages of this usage were evaluated and analyzed. At last, the
application foreground of RS and GIS technology in the earthquake disaster was discussed.
