Effects of increased nitrogen and phosphorus on photosynthetic characteristics of Robinia pseudoacacia clonal seedlings under water stress

Abstract
With orthognnal experimental design, potted seedlings of two black locust clones were grown in a light incubator to study the effects of increased nitrogen and phosphorus on photosynthetic characteristics of the seedlings under different levels of water stress. Analyses of photosynthesis-light response curve, P_(n max), light saturation point (LSP), light compensation point (LCP) and the content of chlorophylls showed that with increased drought, LSP and LCP were influenced significantly by the interaction between nitrogen and phosphorus at the early stage of water stress, which was not significant at the late stage of water stress. Based on comparison between photosynthetic characteristics of the two black locust clones, it was concluded that L_1 was more tolerant of drought than W_1.关键词
