JADLib-A High Level I/O Library for Scientific Computing Data

Abstract
The JADLib (J Advanced Data Library) is a high level data input/output library developed to meeting the need of large scale scientific data storing and exchanging. It provides a data storage model to manage mesh data for simulation applications, which can support various complex structure data representation and operation. The library include a simple C and FORTRN application programming interface (API) that the developers use to easily construct structured and unstructured mesh data and their associated variables. The binary data file is platform-independent with uniform format. The library also provide high performance storage mechanism including grouping parallel I/O, data subsetting and compressing. The JADLib has been successfully integrated with the JaVis visualization tool, JADIS metadata manage tool and many simulation applications from ICF, HPW, CFD and material science domains. The applied effects show that the JADLib is good to resolve the problems of I/O efficiency and data management in simulation applications.关键词
