摘要

Abstract

The reconstruction of terrain profile data based Digital Elevation MOdeI(DEM) by means of traditional interpolation means(B-Spline,bilinear) which often seems too smooth to represent precisely local terrain as natural scenes which have infinite details.In this paper,the Iterated Function System (IFS) interpolation method is used to reconstruct original terrain in which some data have been reduced randomly.Unlike the existing general means,the vertical scale factor is regarded as continuous function of the fractal dimensions to reduce computation in the course of terrain reconstruction.The experimental results reveal that 3D IFS interpolation in DEM can maintain well both topographic feature and statistical characteristics in the case of low reduction rate.
