摘要

Abstract

To investigate the effect of ginsenoside Re on the function of the neuroendocrine system,in water immersion-restraint rats,the contents of brain monoamines transmitters and serum corticosterone were evaluated using high performance liquid chromatography. There was a significant increase of content of brain monoamines transmitters and their metabolites, noradrenaline(NA) , dopamine( DA) , 5-hydroxytryptamine (5-HT) , homovanillic acid( HVA) , 5-hydroxyin-dole-3-acetic acid(5-HIAA) ,and serum corticosterone in pallium,striatum.hypothalamus of water immersion-restraint rats. The elevated level was markedly and dose-dependently reduced by ginsenoside Re(3,6 and 9 mg · kg~(-1)). The data indicated that ginsenoside Re possesses significant effect of recovering the marked increase of neurotransmitters induced by water immersion-restraint stress. This study demonstrates the neuroprotective potential of ginsenoside Re in water immersion-restraint rats.
