Impact of non-hydrocarbons on the calculation of compressibility factor for inorganic gas reservoir fluids

Abstract
In accordance with the characteristics of inorganic gas reservoirs with high CO_2 and N_2 discovered in China, this paper carried out he Pressure-Volume-Temperature (PVT) analysis on five representative fluids with different contents of non-hydrocarbon compositions, obtained the relationship of p-Z, and worked out a relevant calculating program on the basis of the selected calculation model and the VB language. A comparative analysis was made on the generally-used correlations for the presence of non-hydrocarbons and the other method based on gas gravity. In contrast with the measured data in experiments, the calculated coefficient factors of these 5 types of fluids by the DAK8, DAK11, Hall Yarborough methods widely recommended by the literature and the method discussed in this paper were presented in this paper. The following results were obtained: to estimate critical properties for sour gas reservoirs, the influence N_2 should not be ignored besides that of CO_2, and the recommended method here has an advantage for calculating the compressibility factor of high CO_2 gas reservoir fluids.关键词
