Effect of Silica Source on the Hydrothermal Synthesis of ITQ-13 Zeolite

摘要

Abstract

ITQ-13 zeolite was successfully synthesized using three silica sources, i.e., tetraethylorthosilicate (TEOS), colloidal silica, and fumed silica, and was characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), BET surface area, and acidity by the adsorption of d3-acetonitrilc. Characterization results showed that the ITQ-13 samples synthesized using colloidal silica and fumed silica possessed better crystallinity and larger crystals than those synthesized by the TEOS route.
