摘要

Abstract

In order to study the grinding mechanism and to improve the grinding quality of non-circular cams a mathematical heat transfer model for cam grinding was set up based on the heat transfer theory with reasonable assumptions and simplifications on a heavy duty cam grinding. Internal distributions of temperature of the cam were achieved from the cam grinding simulation by ANSYS together with the calculation and analysis on instantaneous thermal transfer. The results show that the simulation truly reflects the heat distribution in the cam grinding, and the temperature fields from ANSYS are matched basically by what from on line infra red cameras, with an average relative difference about 3%. This offers help in solving the problem of cam surface thermal damage and deformation and others during cam grinding.
