Zonation of Seedling of Beta vulgaris and Its Location of Fleshy Tap Root
摘要
Abstract
The traditional zonation method and terminology of plant seedlings based on traditional morphological and anatomical theories and methods were challenged by the newly developed cotyledon node zone(CNZ) theory. Using sugar heat (Beta vulgaris) as material, it was found that its seedling belongs to the Telome elongation type..The fleshy, formerly called "tap root" comes actually from different zones on parts of the embryo. Thus, the head of the tap root was developed from the epicotyl shoot zone; the crown and body from the long CNZ and the short tail from hypocotyl. Consequently, the roots around the body of the "tap root" are neither tateral roots, nor adventitious, they should be called pseudo-adventitious roots.关键词
