The Effect of TSG Hearing Aids on the Treatment of Tinnitus Patients

Abstract
Objective To evaluate the effectiveness and feasibility of Tinnitus Sound Generator (TSG) hearing aid (GN Resound Live 9 TS) in the treatment of tinnitus. Methods The Tinnitus Handicap Inventory (THI) was used to assess the degree of tinnitus in 9 subjects before and after wearing TSG hearing aids. Results The THI scores after 8 weeks of trial were significantly lower than the baseline scores(P<0.0001). The significant improvements were found in the functional, emotional and catastrophic THI scores after wearing the TSG hearing aids(P<0.0001).Conclusion Based on the assessment results, the GN Resound Live 9 TS hearing aid is an effective instrument to treat tinnitus patients with mild-to-moderate sensorineural hearing losses or with normal hearing even after a short period of use.关键词
