Abstract
Objective To evaluate the correlation of serum adiponectin expression with favorable clinicopathologic phenotype in colorectal cancer. Methods Serum adiponectin levels were measured via ABC-ELLSA in 90 cases of colorectal cancer admitted between January 2010 and June 2010 in Shengjing Hospital of China Medical University and 30 normal controls, which were correlated with selected clinicopathological features in colorectal cancer. Results The levels of adiponectin were significantly lower for colorectal cancers (especially in males)(13.08±7.99μg/mL)than normal controls (21.92 ± 8.76 μg/mL) (P<0.01). With the tumor TNM stages increased, the levels of adiponectin showed decreasing tendency gradually (P<0.05).There was no significant difference for tumor locations and histological types (P > 0.0S). Conclusion Low levels adiponectin in human serum are observed in colorectal cancer. With the tumor TNM stages increased, the levels of adiponectin show the decreased tendency gradually.关键词
