Abstract

OBJECTIVE: To optimize macroporous adsorptive resins to purify Chtysanthemun morifalium in Toufengning dropping pills. METHODS: The type of macroporous resin, the maximum amount of physic liquor, the concentration of physic liquor and the concentration of elution solvent were optimized with the adsorption quantity and elution rate of chlorogenic acid as indexes with HPLC. RESULTS: The optimal conditions were as follows: the concentration of the pretreated physic liquor (chrysanthemum) was 0.075 g·mL-1, the maximum amount of physic liquor (C. Morifalium) was 1.2 g·mL-1 resin, which was sieved through HPD600 macroporous resin column, washed with water until appearing of colorless effluent, followed by elution with 70% ethanol (at a volume of 4-fold that of resin). CONCLUSION: The optimized technology is effective for purifying and enriching the chlorogenic acid, which achieve the purpose of purification.
