Peak-load Regulating Adequacy Evaluation Associated With Large-scale Wind Power Integration

Abstract
Whether large-scale wind power can be integrated into power grid mainly depends on the peak-load regulating capacity. If the peak-load regulating capacity is not enough, the wind power can't be integrated. Therefore, it is important to study the peak-load regulating adequacy in power system. Based on Monte-Carlo simulation method, this paper defined the peak-load regulating requirement continuous curve, and proposed peak-load regulation not enough probability (PRNEP) index and peak-load regulation not enough expectation (PRNEE) index. Considering the unit forced outage rate and random fluctuation of wind power, the proposed indexes effectively reflect the peak-load regulating requirement in power system, which is useful to determine the appropriate wind power integrated scale. The results on IEEE-RTS system with wind farms demonstrate that the proposed method is feasible and effective.关键词
