Novel Current Differential Protection Principle of VSC-HVDC Considering Frequency-dependent Characteristic of Cable Line
摘要
Abstract
The control system of voltage source converter HVDC (VSC-HVDC) system is complex and its fault tolerance ability is not sufficient. Cable line with frequency dependent characteristic is commonly used in it. A new current differential protection principle of the cable line is proposed. Based on the distributed parameter model, the current at midpoint of cable line can be calculated, and the current differential protection can be implemented. For the calculation of the line currents at any point, a new method is proposed, The simulation results show that the method can identify the fault reliably and rapidly. This method's sampling frequency is low and it is not influenced by frequency-dependent parameter and distributed capacitance of the cable line.关键词
