Preparation and Catalytic Oxidation Property of Attapulgite/Ce1-xZrxO2 Nanocomposites

Abstract
Attapulgite(ATP)/Ce1–xZrxO2 nanocomposites were prepared by a co-precipitation method.Microstructure and morphology of the samples were characterized by X-ray diffraction and transmission electron microscope.Effect of Zr4+ dopant on structure of the composites was analyzed.Results indicate that the fluorite structure of CeO2 is unchanged with dopation of Zr4+,implying that the fluorite-type solid solutions are obtained on the ATP surface.Removal rate of chemical oxygen demand by ATP/Ce1–xZrxO2 compos-ites could reach as high as 100% for phenol at the mole fraction x of 0.2 and the pH value of phenol solution of 5.73,giving the supe-rior catalytic oxidation activity.关键词
