Design and Dynamic Analysis on Coiling-type of Lunar Sampler

Abstract
For lunar subsurface sampling,this paper presents a novel coiling-type retractable lunar regolith sampler,including the flexible sampling arm and the sampling head.Firstly,the dynamic finite element analysis is performed to investigate the relationship between the vibration amplitude and the vibration frequency of a sampler for samplers with different lengths,the negative power relationship of the first order oriental vibrating frequency of the sampling arm and the length of the sampling arm is proved.Secondly,the measuring and controlling system is designed for vibration experiments,in which the resonant frequency at different lengths through the frequency sweep method is obtained,and the experience formulation is given for the length of the sampling arm and the resonant frequency.Finally,the experiments are carried out to study the relationship between the frequency and depth of the arm in the regolith.The comparative experiment results show that vibrating can improve the penetration speed by around 55%,enhancing penetration depth by about 48%.Experimental results and finite element simulation results are in good agreement,which has verified the rationality of the regolith sampler and the efficiency of the sampling with vibrating.关键词
