Abstract

Corrosion fatigue influence coefficient is often applied to consider the effect of corrosion environment on material fatigue performance in study of aircraft calendar life. For precorrosion LYI2CZ aluminum alloy specimens fatigue and corrosion fatigue test were performed under random and constant amplitude spectrum load in order to analyze the role of corrosion fatigue influence coeff~cient (CFIC) with pre-corrosion years and load spectrum. The test results were as bellow. The first, CFIC increased with the increment of pre-corrosion years and approximates to 1 when corrosion to a certain degree. This meant that the effect of corrosion fatigue could not be considered at the middle and evening of airplane calendar life. The second, CFIC had a weak correlation with fatigue load spectrum. This also meant that a small quantity of the research of CFIC under constant spectrum load was carried on in study of corrosion fatigue coefficient.
