溢流槽对沉沙池溢流堰长度的影响分析研究
Study of effect of spillway trough on spillway crest length of settling basin

Abstract
In order to increase the effective length of spillway crest and to reduce the sediment concentration at spillway crest, a traditional settling basin has been improved by adding a spillway trough at the spillway crest of a settling basin. Based on the model test, the influence of spillway trough on spillway crest length was analyzed and the equation of the length of spillway trough and the water head of spillway crest was derived. Verification of the equation indicated that the calculated and observed results were in good agreement. Thus, the equation can be used in the design of spillway troughs. In order to verify the results of theory and model test, the prototype observation was carried out in both a traditional settling basin and an improved settling basin. The results indicated that the proportion of fine sand at the end of the improved settling basin was bigger than that of the traditional settling basin. At the same time, the sediment concentration at the end of the improved settling basin was smaller than that of the traditional settling basin, which fully indicated that the effect of spillway trough on increasing deposition in settling basins.关键词
