Abstract
Purpose To investigate the expression of CK19 , galectin-3 , HBME-1 and TPO in malignant and benign thyroid lesions and the value of comhined application. Methods By immunochemical EnVision method , the expression of CK19 , galectin-3 , HBME-1 and TPO were detected in 68 cases of papillary thyroid carcinomas, 31 follicular adenomas,19 multinodular goiters and 15 Hashimoto' s thyroiditis. Results The positive rates of CK19 ,gelectin-3 and HBME-1 were 98. 5% , 98. 5% , and 80. 9% , respectively, in papillary thyroid carcinomas and the negative rate of TPO was 89.7% , which were significantly higher than those in benign lesions ( 24. 6% , 21. 5% , 1. 50% , and 1. 5% ) ( P < 0. 001 ). The sensitivity , specificity and accuracy rate were 95. 6% , 98. 5% and 97% ,respectively, by the combined application of CK19, galectin-3, HBME-1 and TPO. Conclusions Combined application of immunohistochemical stains of CK19, galectin-3, HBME-1 and TPO is useful to distinguish papillary thyroid carcinomas from the benign le sions.关键词
