Research and Implementation of P2PSIP System Based on JXTA

Abstract
The session initiation protocol (SIP) is one of the most important protocols in the area of VOIP. However, the existing SIP systems are typically needed to be configured and maintained by hand, with limited scalability. With the matutration of peer-to-peer (P2P) technology, there is a trend to combine P2P concepts with SIP. JXTA is an open P2P platform, which provides infrastructure services for building P2P applications. It depicts basic principles of P2PSIP system, presents a JXTA network model by analyzing Peer and Rendezvous Peer, and implements prototype system. This system maintains the SIP traffic without having to maintain central entities, and meanwhile enjoys compatibility with standard SIP. It also analyzes the call process and framework structure, and verifies function of the P2PSIP prototype system by testing.关键词
