Abstract
Objective To analyze the causes of extrusion of skin soft tissue expander in the treatment of scars on different body surface. Methods Expanders had been inserted in 69 cases suffering from scars. The extrusion of the expander occurred in 11 cases, and its causes were analyzed. Results The extrusion of the expander occurred in head, facial and cervical parts of 8 cases,which accounted for 26.7％ of the total 22 cases. It occurred in trunks and limbs of 3 cases( 7.7％ ). Infection, inappropriate selection of incision, infolded dilation balloon could result in the expander extrusion. Conclusion The incidence of extrusion of expanders in the head,facial and cervical parts is higher than that in the trunk and limbs. Appropriate incision design,clear anatomic layer and correct placement of the expander are keys to prevent this accident.关键词
