Abstract
Objective: To investigate the effect of brainwave treatment on patients with chronic schizophrenia. Methods:Eighty patients with chronic schizophrenia were divided into treatment group (n= 40) and control group (n= 40) randomly.Patients in treatment group were treated by risperdal and brainwave treatment, and those in control group were treated only by risperdal for 8 weeks. After treatment for 8 weeks, all patients were assessed by symptoms self rating scale (SCL-90)and the social function of defect scale (SDSS). Results: After treatment for 8 weeks, the total scores of SCL-90, scores of interpersonal relations, depression, anxiety and somatization, and total scores of SDSS in treatment group were significantly reduced as compared with those before treatment and control group (P＜0.05,0. 01). In control group, the scores of depression, anxiety and somatization were significantly decreased as compared with those before treatment (P＜0. 05, 0.01 ),but there was no significant difference in total scores of SDSS before and after treatment. Conclusion: Auxiliary brainwave treatment can effectively relieve adverse psychological conditions, and improve social function of patients with chronic schizophrenia.关键词
