Abstract
Objective: To evaluate clinical therapeutic effects and safety of joint mobilization combined with ice therapy for treatment of frozen shoulder. Method: Sixty-five patients with frozen shoulder were randomly divided into two groups: the combined treatment group (n= 33) receiving joint mobilization combined with ice therapy, and the control group (n= 32) receiving joint mobilization only. All the patients were assessed with Visual Analogue Scale (VAS) and Constant-Murley Scale (C-M scale) before and after the treatment. Results:After treatment for 15 days, VAS scores were significantly reduced, and C-M (only ADL and ROM) scores were significantly increased in both two groups as compared with those before treatment , more significantly in the combined treatment group (P＜0. 01). After treatment, there were no obvious side effects in both two groups. The clinical effects in the combined group were superior to those in the control group (P＜ 0.05). Conclusion: Joint mobilization combined with ice therapy for frozen shoulder can obviously increase the curative rate and improve the motor function of the shoulder joint.关键词
