Abstract
Objective To investigate the effect of combination of salmeterol and budesonide in the treatment of asthma. Methods Seventy-four cases of asthma were randomly divided into the treatment group and the control group, 37 cases in each group. The treatment group received the conventional therapy plus budesonide combined salmeterol (Seretide) dry powder, 50 μg/250 μg inhalation, twice a day. The control group was treated by conventional therapy plus budesonide aerosol inhalation, 200 μg per time, twice daily. The treatment course in both two groups was 15 d. The effects were evaluated by the asthma symptom scores, lung function and the ACT scoring after 3-month treatment. Results The asthma symptom score, lung funcetion and ACT score in the two groups all were improved. But the improvement in the treatment group was more significant than that in the control group with statistical significance( P ＜0. 01). Conclusion The combination therapy of salmeterol and budesonide has better control effects on asthma with good efficacy, convenience and economy, which is consistent with the clinical application and dissemination.关键词
