Abstract

The behavior of the boron adsorption by chelating resin XSC-700 from salt lake brine in Xinjiang Province with finite solution volume method was investigated. The quantum of adsorption under different conditions was determined. The effects of some factors, such as stirring velocity, dilution ratio, temperature, pH, acidity, the quantum of resin etc, to adsorb and elute were studied. The results show that the resin exhibits high absorbability towards boron in salt lake brine, and performs excellent effect on elution. When the dilution ratio is 15%, the breakthrough cure becomes sharper with the increase of the temperature, but the equilibrium adsorption capacity remains basically unchanged and the effect of stirring velocity and pH can be neglected. Boron elution in hydrochloric acid performs well, and is controlled by acidity and volume of hydrochloric acid. The ratio of boron elution can be up to 92.6% when the concentration of hydrochloric acid is 0.5 mol/L and the ratio of volume of hydrochloric acid to quantum of resin is 8∶1 (mL∶g).
