Revision of Questionnaire of Stigma for Seeking Professional Psychological Help in college students

Abstract
Objective: To revise the Questionnaire of Stigma for Seeking Professional Psychological Help (SSPPH) and test its reliability and validity. Methods: Based on the definition of stigma proposed by Corrigan, the SSPPH was developed by combining the Stigma Scale for Receiving Psychological Help (SSRPH) and Self-Stigma of Seeking Help Scale (SSOSH), with five supplementary items. In this cross-sectional study, two samples of college students were selected by convenience sampling. The data was analyzed by item analysis and confirmatory factor analysis. The Attitudes Toward Seeking Professional Psychological Help Scale were used to test the criterion validity. Results: The revised SSPPH consisted of 10 items totally. All item-dimension correlations were higher than 0.5. Confirmatory factor analysis conformed the two dimensional models (x2 = 138, df = 31, x2/df = 4.45, CFI = 0.96, NFI =0.96, NNFI =0.90, RFI =0. 89, RMSEA =0.05). There was a significant negative correlation between the total scores of SSPPH and ATSPPH (r = -0.70, P <0.01). The Cronbach's alpha coefficients of the questionnaire ranged from 0.77 to 0.81. The retest reliability ranged from 0.70 to 0.73. Conclusion: The revised Questionnaire of Stigma for Seeking Professional Psychological Help has good reliability and validity in college students, which could be used in domestic relevant research.关键词
