Nonlinear H-two/H-infinity synthetic controller for diesel-generator set

Abstract
The stability of an isolated power system is determined by the speed and voltage response characteristic of the diesel-generator set. The control system of a diesel-generator set is a nonlinear control system. Because of the interaction between speed and voltage, it is necessary to control them synthetically. To analyze the dynamic characteristics of this system, a nonlinear mathematical model of diesel-generator set is built first, and a nonlinear H-two/H-infinity synthetic controller is then designed. In combining the direct feedback linearization with the mixed H-two/H-infinity control theory to design the synthetic controller for the diesel-generator set, the specifications of the system are transformed to that of a standard H-two/H-infinity control problem, and a nonlinear H-two/H-infinity synthetic control law is developed for the diesel generator set. The computer simulation results show that the nonlinear H-two/H-infinity synthetic controller effectively improves the dynamic precision of the system and suppresses the load disturbance, thus providing desirable stability for an isolated power system.关键词
