Abstract
OBJECTIVE: To observe the effect of prior therapy of statins on serum levels of TNF-α, IL-6, hs-CRP and prognosis in patients with sepsis. METHODS: 86 eligible patients with sepsis were divided into non-statin group (44 cases) and statin group (42 cases) according to the application of statin. The serum levels of TNF-a, IL-6 and hs-CRP, mechanical ventilation time and 28-day mortality were measured before and four weeks after treatment. RESULTS: The serum levels of TNF-α, IL-6 and hs-CRP were significantly decreased after treatment in both groups (P<0.01), especially in the statin group (P<0.01). There were significant difference in mechanical ventilation time and 28-day mortality between two groups (P<0.05). CONCLUSION: Prior therapy with statins can improve the prognosis in patients with sepsis, and have a role in the primary prevention of sepsis.关键词
