Abstract
There is a general consensus among the surgeons that in breast conserving surgery (BCS) the margins of the specimen have to be tumor free and residual cancer following BCS increases the risk of local recurrence and mortality, but no universal agreement on the width of the tumor free margin duo to the different methods of margin assessment and BCS procedure. Basically, the specimen of BCS should have tumor free margins, otherwise the radical operation will be changed to palliative resection and excisional biopsy; and following adjuvant therapy will become salvage treatment, artificially.关键词
