Abstract
Objective To compare the effect of local nerve blockade anesthesia with epidural anesthesia in tension-free repair in elderly patients with inguinal hernia. Methods One hundred thirty-four cases with one hundred sixty-five hernias were semi-randomly enrolled into two groups. During the tension-free hemioplasty, one group received local nerve blockade anesthesia while the other group accepted the epidural anesthesia. The analgesic effect, operation time as well as the incidence of complications were compared. Results The effect of analgesia in these two groups was similar, however, local anesthesia showed shorter operation time and lower incidence of urinary retention than epidural anesthesia. Conclusion Compare with epidural anesthesia, the local anesthesia was better anesthetic way in tension-free repair in elderly patients with inguinal hernia.关键词
