Abstract

An air-staged and low Nox emission coal water slurry(CWS)technology was studied on a 0.5 MW large-scale laboratory furnace. The impacts of staged-air proportion and input-pattern to the Nox emission were analyzed. The impacts of flue gas components and slagging were also studied. As staged-air proportion and input-pattern optimized, the, nitrogen oxide emission of CWS is reduced to 212mg/m3(6%O2) at the OFA proportion of 18%, increasing OFA proportion does not benefit the combustion stabilization of the main combustion zone. With the air-staged combustion, the Nox emission is reduced, the burnout rate does not reduce and the slagging is not deteriorated.
