Abstract

Normal acoustic logging tools have no directive property and can't control the directivity of the acoustic signal. In order to overcome these disadvantages, Azimuthally Acoustic Bond Tool (AABT) is designed. The tool is a new acoustic logging tool which can realize directional radiation or directional receiving and evaluate interface Ⅰ & Ⅱ cenment quality. In addition, it has better circumferential azimuth detection function and better accuracy and consistency; its circumferential resolution reaches up to 40°. Compared with sonic sources of monopole, dipole and quadripole sonic logs, this tool realizes circumferential scanning measurements, therefore, it has better applications in cement quality evaluation, inhomogeneous formation evaluation, direcy perforation, direct drilling and interwell formation evaluation, etc. Electronic system design of AABT is introduced. The tool is composed of transmitter electronics, measurement and control electronics and acoustic mandrel. Main electronic components, central functions and key technologies are all analyzed in detail, and preliminary test results are presented.
