Study of Defect Structure and Spin-Hamiltonian Parameters for Ru3+ Ions in YGG Crystals

Abstract
YGG:Ru3+ crystal is an important laser material. On the basis of the crystal field theory and spin Hamilto-nian theory, by using the perturbation formula for the low spin (S=l/2) d5 configuration in strong trigonal field, spin Hamil-tonian parameters (g factors g ?, g ± and A ?, A ±) of Ru3+ ions in YGG crystals were calculated. By fitting the bond angle 0, the covalent parameter N2 and the core polarization constant k, these spin-Hamiltonian parameters were reasonably explained. Furthermore, the defect structure for the Ru3+ center in YGG crystals was obtained to be D3d symmetry, and the defected bond angle was 56.097°.关键词
