摘要

Abstract

In this paper, a new set of simulate experiment installation for testing deep-water drilling fluids fundamental performances is developed and two drilling fluid formulations are carried out that can be used at shallow and deep formation in deepwater drilling. The experimental results show that the two drilling fluids formulations both have relatively low viscosity, reasonable rheology and strong cuttings carrying capability and can prevent forming the hydrate in 4 X. And 15 Mpa, which is available for drilling operation in 1,500 m deep water. Also they can prevent caving and being good to borehole stability. Moreover, the contamination of 5% bentonite or 10% cuttings has little effect on the performances of rheology and filtration.
